The range of social services offered encompasses a wide spectrum of fields of intervention for the family and the community, including: early childhood assessments; locating children at risk;  treatment of children with disabilities; support groups for children and teenagers; family counseling; treatment for single parent families, the elderly and senior citizens; employment rehabilitation for the handicapped; frameworks and services for the mentally disabled individual and his/her family; substance and alcohol abuse prevention, etc.

In addition, the municipality offers a variety of services to senior citizens, including enrichment activities at centers, volunteer programs for seniors, and a senior daycare center for single senior citizens who have difficulties in functioning independently.   In addition, the employment center for seniors is one of a few of its kind in Israel in which senior citizens are employed, earn a salary and enjoy being active and independent.

Special projects have been developed by the municipality for the city's mentally challenged population, and it has received a special award for excellence from the Shalem Foundation for this effort.
